As summer ends and school begins, so does our Awana program. Wednesday, August 22 at 6:30 P.M. will be the first meeting. Awana is for the children ages 3 thru grade 6. Parents are encouraged to bring your child and invite your neighbors and friends to come and enjoy this new season for Awana.

The Memorial Service for David and Audrey Coleman, will be held on Saturday, August 11, 2012 at 11:00 AM in the sanctuary of Friendship Bible Church. Our love, prayers, and sympathy are extended to Pastor and Lynn, Jonathan and Jacqui Coleman, Sarah and Will Buttermore, and other family members and many friends. We will miss David and Audrey very much, but have assurance that they are in the presence of their Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. We will see them again some sweet day.

VBS starts this Friday, July 13th at 6:00PM-8:30PM, Sat., July 14th 6:00PM-8:30PM, and Sunday, July 15th, the closing celebration at 10:30AM. We still need volunteers to bring items and do many different jobs. Please help!! Let’s all make this a fun and learning experience about Jesus for the children. We are in need of a teacher for our preschool children, ages 3 and 4 years old. Also, for our kindergarten through 2nd grade, ages 5, 6, and 7 years old. Please prayfully consider volunteering for one of these positions. Then speak to our Sunday School Superintendent, Rev.Brian York, and let him know if God is leading you in this direction. Thank you.
Friendship Bible will be celebrating the 39th anniversary on June 3. Our guest speaker will be Rev. Craig Hofer from the First Alliance Church in Orlando, Florida. There will be no Sunday School and no evening service. A covered dish lunch to follow the morning service. Please bring your favorite dishes with enough to share with guests.

Come enjoy a night of music featuring the worship teams of Community Church, Eden Baptist Church, Keystone United Methodist and Friendship Bible Church. Friday, May 25th from 7-9 p.m., 1155 Orchid Ave. (across from Friendship Bible Church), Keystone Heights. A love offering will be taken to benefit “Answers”, a locally supported ministry to young women and families. Bring your own chair or blanket. Bring the kids!!

The American Heritage Girls are having a spaghetti dinner fund raiser on Friday, April 27, 5:00PM-7:00PM in our fellowship hall. Tickets are $5.00 for adults, $2.50 for children under 10. There is a $20.00 cap for large families. You can buy tickets in advance or at the door. Let’s come out and support our AHG girls and troop leaders.

April 8 is Easter Sunday and the FBC choir will present the Easter Cantata at 10:30AM. There will be no Sunday School and no evening service. Everyone is invited to join us at 9:00AM in the fellowship hall for a continental breakfast. Please bring breakfast items (muffins, doughnuts, bagels, milk, juice, etc.) coffee will be furnished.

Don’t forget your donations for prison packs; anti-fungal creams, toothbrushes & paste, bar soaps, underwear, combs, & large washcloths. Also, they need buttons for the children to string in their Bible School Projects. These donations are needed this Sunday, March 25. Thank you for your support in this outreach mission.

We are planning on having a March Madness Basketball Tournament on Saturday, March 10 between 9AM-6PM. We are also going to have a Bounce House and Ministry Booths with fun activities for children & adults. We need your help to make this a successful outreach to our community. We will need volunteers to bring hotdogs, buns, chips, & condiments. More exciting info. to follow.
The Alliance Women are collecting items to have Betty Constance take to the assisted living residents at the CMA Retirement Center in Deland. We need donations of hand & body lotions, socks, small decorative items such as candles & picture frames, note cards, and postage stamps. Place your items in the “Care Package” gift bag on the table in the foyer this Sunday, March 11 & Sunday, March 18.
Our Mission Conference will be on Sunday, March 18 and Monday, March 19. Our Guest Missionaries are David & Betty Constance from Argentina. All are encouraged to pray for this conference. Also, start reviewing your favorite international recipes you may want to prepare.
Jim Baker is collecting weekly pill planners for AIDS patients in the Ukraine. They were so appreciated when we collected them back in 2007, that they are asking for more! This is such a great outreach. Please put them in the basket in foyer by April 8. Any questions, ask Bob or Joyce Baker.

There will be a meeting of all committee members on Saturday, January 14. The meeting will begin at 8:30 a.m. and end at noon. All Elders, Deacons, Deaconesses, Trustees, Christian Education and Mission Committee members are requested to attend.
On Sunday, January 15th we will have a guest speaker who will be bringing a special presentation on Creation. All Sunday school classes will meet in the Fellowship Hall at 9:15 a.m. for this presentation. The speaker will continue this presentation during the morning worship time in the sanctuary.
